Hollywood is notorious for being a propaganda machine, and if you don’t know where to look, it can be tough to find quality independent films and documentaries (especially with the mounting big tech censorship campaign in recent years).
Watched Official Secrets on Netflix. Excellent movie. Some of the government actions then were echoed in the propaganda about Covid, Ukraine, Russia, etc in todays news headlines.
Seems like over the last decade or two, government and corporations have gotten even better at perfecting the art of controlling the message that the public receives. It's disheartening to read numerous articles written by official journalists and see things that make you say "they're lying" . The disappearance of independent media / journalists I think is directly connected to this problem. With fewer independent thinkers and voices, more things slide by unquestioned.
Glad to hear you watched & enjoyed it, Bruce! From what I know of the actual events, it's pretty much on point. And agreed — I, too, felt a little deja vu in reflecting on some current events. Anyway, thanks so much for the feedback!
Thank you for the recommendations, Rebecca! Regarding your quest for a documentary that encapsulates what’s wrong with the MSM, have you seen Adam Curtis’s “The Century of the Self?”
I include that along with several other recommendations as part of my recovery program for menticide:
Excellent! I think you’ll really appreciate it (I recently learned Adam Curtis is one of Mike Yeadon’s favorite filmmakers if that enhances the experience :-)
I forgot to mention I included that doc along with other recs in my first essay:
